Hostile Civilization turns your world into a living warzone ruled by hostile factions, massive bases, raids, robots, secrets and endgame bosses. You are not the center of the world — you are just another faction trying to survive.

These are masked guerrillas, their faces are invisible hidden behind masks or scarves. They attack from hiding primarily targeting villages, killing and robbing villagers. Masked attacks anyone who gets in their way. They primarily use bows, swords, grenades, flashbangs, and Molotovs, also masters at creating traps, employing a lot of land mines and false blocks. They primarily reside in the End, which is interesting because every other faction fears the End and never enters it...

The most dangerous of them all. They rule the overworld and the nether. Huge bases, a powerful army, Leaders, incredible robotic technologies, TNT, grenades, AGNAR! (ultra powerful TNT), night patrols, the best ores and items in the game and that's just the beginning... They raid your base, and they have a particular hatred for player factions. They will do anything to be the best. Who will stop them? They are terrified of the end dimension. They have their own language to communicate with and are also skilled at securing documents and reports from others fractions.

Burrowers are miners. They live underground in tunnels and trenches. They are treated as brothers to the Castaways. They once belonged to the Castaways but left that group and formed their own. They are not very advanced, but very skilled in ore mining. They even know a way to find ores in the world beyond bedrock, ores previously unknown to anyone! Furthermore, they can create land mines, traps, mazes and robots which despite their limited access to resources are highly technologically advanced.

The fourth faction is the players. That's you! They start from scratch but evolve very quickly. They must survive finding deep water in a world full of aggression and attacks. The goal is to find shelter and food. Castaways especially dislike you. Masked and Burrowers as long as you don't get in their way or harm them on their turf (neutral). You also receive help in the form of an amulet shops. Buy better items, upgrade yourself and your base, create robots, defenses, grenades, and don't give up so easily!
- SHOP AMULET (BASIC)
- END SHOP AMULET (UPGRADED SHOP!)
They will help you survive!
RECIPE FOR END SHOP AMULET:

Smasheraus is a robot created by the Castaways. It is primarily used to defend their bases from enemies. There are two versions of Smasher: the basic version and the Stage 2 version. They differ in HP, damage dealt, and additional abilities. It is a very difficult opponent especially in this upgraded version.

Another of the Castaways robots. This one is primarily used for attacking, but it can also be used to defend the base. It's only available in the basic version, as the Stage 2 version isn't yet fully developed by castaways, but maybe you will be able to craft it? It's a very tough opponent, designed for the most important and challenging battles. It has many skills and always fights to the end.

Castaways robot with a large gun that shoots lasers. Particularly hostile towards players. Fighting him is difficult because you have to attack him while he's on cooldown and he can't fire lasers because he is reloading gun. Lasers are very powerful, you won't even be able to approach him while he is attacking. Additionally during the laser shooting Gunneraus gains a shield that protects him. You have to wait for your moment. This is your only chance to beat him...

A special drone for special tasks. Used in large raids and important operations, it won't be used to rob poor villagers with a technologically backward iron golem. But in large battles, on their own turf the Masked will definitely use it! Looks harmless but it can be the player worst nightmare. What does a Drommer do? It doesn't attack but it flies close to the player (often when the player isn't looking) and steals their sword, pickaxe, shield and other tools from their inventory. A single Drommer can take up to seven tools! After stealing your items Drommer accelerates and flies specifically to a high Y block above 150 preventing you from reaching it and retrieving your items. Good luck with it...

An improved version of the Drommer. It's bigger, faster and has red eyes. It's real nightmare for players! This drone doesn't steal items but he will kidnapp you! It grabs you with its arms and lifts you very high only to drop you from a height. Once it grabs you there's no escape unless you prepare a "Plan B." Be careful. This robot is designed to defend Masked bases and it does it brilliantly.

Slammer is a Burrowers robot. It was created to protect the temple safe. It doesn't walk, it jumps, it doesn't hit, it crushes. Slammer has a different combat system than the previous robots. Here the player's skill and cunning matter, not the quality of the sword. Quite demanding, but the risk is always worth it for the amazing wealth and high-quality items, right?

A boss forged by the Burrowers from the legendary ore known as "Mossarite". The Variarch acts as the Burrowers bodyguard during large-scale excavations and explorations of unknown areas deep underground. This is not a fighter, this guy is a master of the terrain, manipulating blocks and throwing them at its victims. It is said that once Variarch has locked onto its target… it never misses.

CRAFT "ALLIANCE PACT"

RIGHT CLICK ON IT.

Fulfill the conditions and enjoy the alliance!

The Blacksmith and Enchanter Villager will meet your expectations for a small amount of coins!

This is a support robot. He supports you and your robots in battle by providing a heart boost. Players within 35 blocks of Harko receive 5 additional health and robots receive 80. If you hold down shift and right click on Harko he will activate a special ability that highlights all chests within a 70 blocks radius. He's slow and quite MASSIVE so... more suited to exploration than fighting. But he's also capable of some combat. This guy has 500 hp and deals 11 damage attack. He has no special combat attacks. Price: 3500 coins.

Some very good enchants for cheap prices!

(Will be more in the future!)

2.0 UPDATE!

- Why I can't sleep sometimes?
If you can't sleep, it's because of the difficulty setting. At the beginning of the game (after joining a world) you will receive a note saying "Change settings." You must open it and select: LITE version to disable the random sleep block. If you drop the note away immediately after starting the game and don't change anything the game will automatically revert to normal mode, which will randomly block sleep.
- Why is there even a sleep block?
At night Castaways can raid your base. This is part of the mod mechanics. If someone goes straight to sleep at the beginning of the night the raids might never happen. Raids take place on difficulty: TERROR, NORMAL, and to a limited extent Easy. On LITE mode there are no raids or sleep blocks. Everyone can set whatever they want!
- Why is my game lagging?
This mod is quite demanding especially in large bases, which can have over 100 enemies in one place. This is partially due to Minecraft poor optimization. In such cases I recommend downloading a mod that boosts FPS and optimizes your game like Rubidium, or reducing the render distance and other game graphic intensive settings.
When performance is really really bad: From version 1.9 you can limit the number of opponents in structures in the config file! How to do that?
- Open config file LOCATION: .minecraft\config\hostile-civilization-mob-config
- Look for something like this:

An example of how a well-set configuration can work (Here we have a maximum of 30 opponents in our structures):

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Now + 30/40 FPS (WITH RUBIDIUM/SODIUM EVEN +100/120 FPS)
- Will this mod work on multiplayer?
Absolutely! Playing multiplayer can greatly enhance the game. More people in a faction = better faction and a lot of fun! Mod supports multiplayer and is ready for it, but there is a problem with one item i mean the "Chests of Secrets" minigame. It's not working on multiplayer, only the server host will be able to play. So give your coins to a friend who is not afraid to take a risk. ;)
- The structures are torn/incomplete/holey/built-up interior why?
Probably you are using too old mod version.
This problem does not exist from version 2.0 and higher. Why? Because structures had a massive overhaul in version 2.0 and perform much better than before. However if you're having problems with structures and you think there are too many or too few of them you can change their spawn chance in the config file. How to do this?
- Open config file LOCATION: .minecraft\config\hostile-civilization-mob-config
- Look for something like this:

An example of how a well-set configuration can work (I've set the multiplier to 1.5 times more than the default number of structures. You can also set it to -1.5, which will be 1.5 times fewer structures than the default. The range is from -5.0 to 5.0)

BEFORE:

AFTER:

- Can I use modifications in a modpack?
Yes, you can use this mod in modpack! Hostile Civilization should be compatible with most mods and won't cause any issues. However it may conflict when there is too much structures mods active.
- Why mobs are very strong and some of them one shot me?
Most bosses in Minecraft work like this: you grab a sword, next go in easy solo run and kill everyone... That's not the case in Hostile Civilization. Imagine playing on multiplayer survival PVP server and wanting to attack a castle with 100 defending players. Would you also go solo run with a sword there? No. It works the same way here: factions like Castaways, Masked, or Burrowers act like real players defending their bases! You need a plan. Maybe shop amulet will help?
If you think is TOO HARD ---> You can use config file to reduce health/damage dealt by mobs. Or... you can remove bosses from structures! How to do that?
- Open config file LOCATION: .minecraft\config\hostile-civilization-mob-config
- Look for something like this:
BEFORE:

AFTER:

- What mods are worth adding?
I think It's worth downloading mods that add new defenders, weapons or factions. I recommend some weapons mods to make gameplay more interesting and intense.
- Are there any plans for this modification?
Yes, I will be keep developing factions, structures, events, bosses, and systems. I don't like to make promises but there's a good chance that there will be more events, more intense gameplay, greater alliance possibilities, better mobs AI and some vehicles like tanks.
- Why are there so few showcase videos?
Unfortunately I don't have time to record a showcase for every update. There are a few showcases I recorded when I had time. To experience the entire modification it's best to play it yourself without spoilers!
- The modification isn't working. What should I do?
The most common problem is that the mod loader version is too old. For example, Hostile Civilization won't work on Forge [47.2.0] because it's too old. Use at least [47.4.0] version of Forge. If it's a different problem send me a message with the crash log. I'm always happy to help ;)
- I have an idea for something to add! Where can I write it?
Write in a comment somewhere or in a private message to me!
